At Vertical Espresso, coffee isn’t just part of what we do—it’s the core of who we are.
If you’ve ever taken a sip of your flat white and thought, “This is really good,” that’s not a coincidence. Every cup we pour has a story behind it. One that starts with the bean itself—and ends with a smile on your face.
So let’s take you behind the scenes a little. Here’s why we proudly serve Gabrielle Coffee, and what makes it so special.
The Bean That Makes the Difference
Gabrielle Coffee is a Sydney-based specialty roaster known for their meticulous sourcing and roasting process. We were drawn to them not just for their incredible flavour profiles, but for their philosophy: small-batch, responsibly sourced, and always fresh.
Their beans come from some of the world’s most renowned coffee-growing regions—think Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil—and every origin is chosen with care. From farm to cup, there’s a deep respect for quality and sustainability.
When you walk into Vertical, you’re not just ordering a coffee. You’re experiencing the final chapter of that bean’s journey—from high-altitude farms to our espresso machine.
Blend vs Single Origin: What’s the Deal?
We love variety—and we know our customers do too. That’s why we serve:
Gabrielle’s Signature Blend for all milk-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites. It’s smooth, chocolatey, and perfectly balanced to hold up beautifully with milk.
Rotating Single Origins for black coffee lovers (think long blacks, espressos, and pour overs). These change every three weeks, giving our regulars something new to look forward to—whether it’s a floral Ethiopian or a fruit-forward Kenyan.
We’re not just making coffee—we’re curating an experience that keeps your taste buds curious.
Baristas Who Know Their Stuff
Of course, even the best beans can fall flat without the right hands on the machine. That’s why our baristas are trained not just to make coffee, but to understand it.
We dial in every single morning. That means we adjust grind size, shot time, and extraction to suit that day’s weather, humidity, and bean profile. It’s a science and an art—and we’re obsessed with getting it right.
You’ll probably notice we serve our black coffees with a little card explaining the origin and tasting notes. It’s not to be fancy—it’s to share the story and spark conversation. Our customers are curious, and we love that.
What Makes Vertical Coffee Different?
In a world full of cafés, we believe what sets us apart is care. Not just in our sourcing or brewing—but in how we serve you.
We want your coffee to be consistent, yes. But we also want it to delight you. That’s why we keep tasting, rotating, and refining. Some of our regulars have gone from ordering “just a cappuccino” to becoming total origin nerds (in the best way). That kind of transformation? We live for it.
Come Taste the Difference
If you’re a coffee lover—or even if you’re just starting your journey—come in and taste what makes our brew different. Whether you’re into strong, milky classics or delicate pour overs, we’ve got something that’ll make your morning brighter.
We’re brewing fresh from 6:00 AM every day, and we’re always happy to chat beans, blends, or brew methods.
